Wheelchairs

We have a wide range of wheelchairs. Every wheelchair has a different function in its own way. Depending on your lifestyle, needs and wishes, we look for the most suitable wheelchair, together with you.

Getting a wheelchair, how does this work?

Do you need a wheelchair? Then make an appointment with one of our experts. An appointment takes approximately 20 minutes. The appointment takes place at our head office in Genk, or if necessary, at your home. Our expert takes your size and helps you make the best choice, taking into account your wishes and needs.

Get a Wheelchair on a Rental Basis

Starting September 1, 2007, a rental system in residential care centres applies, namely ‘Renting’. This rental system is set up for wheelchairs. There are three types of wheelchairs that can be rented:

  • The standard wheelchair.
  • The modular wheelchair.
  • And the care wheelchair.

Our providers are happy to help you make a suitable choice that fits your needs and wishes.

This rental system has been expanded since January 1, 2019. Are you over 85 years old and still living at home? Then you can only obtain one of the above-mentioned wheelchairs on a rental basis.

Different types of wheelchairs

Standard wheelchairs for children and adults

A standard wheelchair is for limited daily use such as short journeys. This type of wheelchair can be used both indoors and outdoors. These wheelchairs are foldable, so you can easily take them with you in the car.

Modular wheelchairs

The modular standard wheelchair serves for long-term daily use, both indoors and outdoors. In addition, the wheelchair can be fully adapted to your needs. For example, we can make various adjustments such as an adjustable headrest, work tables, contoured backs and much more.

Care wheelchairs

Our care wheelchairs are for permanent use. They are specifically intended for care-dependent people who need physical support. These wheelchairs are equipped with a tilt system to increase comfort but also to alternate posture. This is provided to prevent bedsores, among other things.

Seat shells

Our seats shells have the same functions as the care wheelchairs. However, if a standard care wheelchair does not meet your wishes and needs, a customised orthopaedic seat shell can be used.

Active wheelchairs for children and adults

Our active wheelchairs are specifically aimed at the active, sporty and independent user. To make use as easy as possible, these types of wheelchairs are extra light, quickly manoeuvrable and efficient. The active wheelchair exists for both children and adults.

Electronic wheelchairs

This type of wheelchair increases self-reliance. Due to the electronic control, this wheelchair requires much less physical effort from the user. Depending on your needs and wishes, there are different wheelchairs for different situations such as an electronic wheelchair for indoor or outdoor use, or a combination of these.

Push stroller

This type of buggy is specially intended for children who cannot move independently with a wheelchair. Larger distances can be bridged in this way. If necessary, you can opt for a customisable buggy. In accordance to your wishes, we do everything to make the wheelchair as comfortable and fun as possible for your child.

Anti-decubitus cushions

We want to maximise comfort with all our wheelchairs. That is why there is also the possibility to add cushions. We offer different types of cushions that can be combined with modular and electronic wheelchairs, but also with scooters:

  • Anti-decubitus cushions (more support + skin protection)
  • Cushions to prevent wounds
  • Cushions specifically for bedsores (for long-term users)
