Frequently Asked Questions

Orthoses

What is custom work?

These custom works are specifically made for you, your body and your condition.
To make this, the size from the relevant body part is taken.
The measurement can be done in the following ways:

  • Plaster cast,
  • Foam print,
  • Size scanning,
  • Measuring.

Custom work can only be reimbursed for injuries and disorders for which the using period is at least equal to the renewal period.

What is prefab? (prefabricated orthoses)

These are standard finished appliances that are produced in series. Despite the fact that these are supplied as standard, it is (sometimes) possible to make individual adjustments. Our orthopaedic providers are happy to give you more information and can tell you if your prefab orthosis can be adjusted.

What is IMF? (Immediate fitting)

Immediate fitting is an orthosis that is applied directly to you, without casting, based on low temperature plastics and possible accessories.

What are the next steps after measuring an orthosis?

In the second phase, you proceed to fitting your aid.
During this fitting, our orthopaedic expert will make the necessary adjustments and notes and test your orthosis.
In the third phase, we proceed to delivery.
In this last phase, a further check-up is performed to ensure that you receive the best orthosis.

What do I have to do to obtain an orthosis (insoles, lumbostat, cervical collar…)?

An allowance or refund can only be made if you have a valid prescription. This prescription can be issued by your general practitioner or specialist, depending on the desired device.
Then you can come to us with your prescription and we will do the necessary to manufacture an orthosis.
