Spronken Orthopedie expands into the Dutch Caribbean

New team and fitting centres in Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius.

Spronken Orthopaedics, a specialist in medical aids, arm and leg prostheses, braces, orthoses and bespoke orthopaedic solutions, is taking over the operations of Liseur Orthopaedics in Curaçao. We will officially launch on 1 October 2026. In doing so, we are bringing our expertise, innovative technology and bespoke manufacturing capabilities to Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius.

Spronken Caribbean – acquisition of Liseur Orthopaedics

Since 1960, Spronken Orthopaedics has stood for craftsmanship, innovation and personalised care. With over 300 fitting and service centres in Belgium and the Netherlands, we help people every day to achieve greater comfort, mobility and quality of life. We are now bringing that same approach to the Dutch Caribbean.

Through the acquisition of Liseur Orthopaedics on Curaçao, we are combining a local presence with the scale, technology and support of the Spronken Group. Patients, surgeons, rehabilitation specialists and physiotherapists on the islands can count on high-tech, bespoke orthopaedic solutions (prostheses and orthoses) that are manufactured and delivered locally. We offer the full range of orthoses and prostheses, including orthotic insoles and other orthopaedic aids – all covered by health insurers.

Javier Liseur will remain closely involved as a partner. We thank him for his trust and for everything he has built up over the past few years. At the same time, we warmly welcome the entire team of staff to the Spronken family. Your expertise and the bond you have forged with patients on the islands form the foundation upon which we will continue to build.

Together, we aim to strengthen orthopaedic care in the region: taking a multidisciplinary approach, working more closely with patients, utilising modern techniques and new technology, and providing the same personalised care that has been a hallmark of Spronken and Liseur for many years.

Spronken is a strong hospital partner because, for over 65 years, it has combined bespoke orthopaedic solutions with ISO 13485 quality standards, modern technology (digital measurement, 3D printing, NextGen aids) and specialised care units such as the Amputee Care Center, Neuro Care Center, Foot Care Center and Breast Care Center. Doctors can count on short lines of communication and a team of prosthetics and orthotics designers and specialists – in Belgium, the Netherlands and Curaçao – who quickly and clinically translate prescriptions into a reliable and functional fit.
